Changes to my study program
At the end of 2020 I completely decided that Journalism would be the profession in which I wanted to professionalize, so this year I began to study this career at the University of Chile. Fortunately, despite the pandemic and online classes I have had some very good experiences. In addition, in recent weeks I have had the opportunity to meet my classmates thanks to hybrid classes. However, even though I'm only in my first year, there are things about both the student program and the university that could be improved.
I also believe that the faculty should implement courses more focused on improving journalistic skills, such as more and better workshops for writing, editing, or topics that increase interpersonal habilities.
Finally, I believe that the university should have greater consideration for students who are not from Santiago, since the exclusion of these by the institution is very evident. This has been demonstrated by the implementation of hybrid classes, which always present a problem when being recorded them due to poor and carefree preparation of those in charge of doing so, which leaves a lot to be desired for students.
hi Juan, I agree that there must be more courses that focus more on journalism itself
ResponderEliminarHi Juan, I am agree with you. I'm form Santiago, but I can notice the exclusion to people that can't go to ICEI, in person.
ResponderEliminarHi Juan! I'm agree with your opinion about basic formation subjects. It's ICEI's responsabiltiy to create a better study space for the future journalists of the institution. And, it's important to think about the situation of students that aren't from Santiago.
ResponderEliminarAs you, I enjoy the "basic formation" classes for all the philosophical discussions that are allowed there. I'm in the cinema program and I also feel that we could get much more hours to be focused on improve our filmmaker skills.
